The community fridge concept was initiated during the year 2012 in Germany, Spain. The concept is also very implemented in Mumbai too. Community fridge is a fridge which are located in public places catering the requirement of cooked for the needy people.

It is a unique concept where NGOs in Mumbai too have taken initiatives and installed them at various places in Mumbai. Organisation like All Men and Women’s Association For Helping Humanity Always (AMAFHHA) trust contributed in a major way by installing at many places, also Versova welfare association, Archana foundation and others have made their valuable contribution towards installing Community fridges in Mumbai.

There are several benefits of Community fridge which helps to:

  • avoid food wastage,
  • the opportunity for those to provide unconditional service by providing food and store them.
  • availability of food for needy.
