Why theme chosen is Closing The Early Warning Gap Together?

The theme “Closing the Early Warning Gap Together” highlights the urgent need for universal access to early warning systems in an era of increasing climate disasters. Despite their proven effectiveness—offering a nearly ten-fold return on investment—almost half the world still lacks these life-saving systems.

The United Nations’ Early Warnings for All initiative aims to ensure global coverage by 2027, requiring strong political commitment, enhanced technology, financial support, and collaboration among governments, businesses, and communities. Alongside this effort, countries must accelerate climate action by reducing greenhouse gas emissions to prevent worsening crises. In a just world, no one should be left unprotected—urgent collective action is needed now.
