These NGOs Are Doing Great Job Providing Food To People During Covid-19

After the 21 days shutdown through out the country have posed several challenges. People those are affecting are the daily earners and weaker sections of society. Many people directly or indirectly are coming forward to help these people and are providing food, medicines and helping in many other ways.

Below are the couple of NGOs who have come forward and are working at a big scale contributing for this noble cause.

ROTI GHAR


Roti Ghar is a initiative run by the NGO Khushiyaan Foundation feeds 400 underprivileged kids Daily & 700 underprivileged every week in different locations of Mumbai. In the wake of Covid-19 they are providing food to daily wage earner.

This NGO has opened his kitchen where food will be delivered to underpriviledged people free or at nominal cost to labourers, security guards etc at any place in and around Mumbai.

One of the volunteer speaking to MeMumbai.com informed that they are feeding upto 3000 people per day. Also told that if any people who comes across such people who need food can inform them and even taken up the cause for supplying the foods in their area.

YUVA

YUVA truly delivering to its name known as Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA) are supplying food kits to low income families who need immediate support. These locations are situated in Mumbai and surrounding.

After conducting assessment at various locations they identified some places within Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Panvel and Vasai-Virar. They identified over 1,500 low-income and vulnerable families in dire need of support, in the wake of COVID-19.

YUVA launched its campaign ‘Together We Can’ to raise funds to offer emergency relief in the form of food kits to these marginalised families. The kit consists of rice, wheat, pulses, and oil, to last a week and costs Rs 600 per package.

In the last three days, the NGO’s volunteers have distributed these to 688 marginalised families comprising 3,440+ individuals.
