Today on 1st February 2021 after a long hiatus, Mumbai’s lifeline resumed for Mumbaikars. All train commuters can travel in Local trains with the restricted timings as mentioned below:
- 1st train service in the morning till 7 a.m.
- 12 pm to 4 pm.
- 9 pm till last train service.
Strict actions will be taken against the commuter for not following the rules. The punishment can be from 1 month upto 3 years of jail with a fine of Rs 200/-.
Highlights of arrangements made:
- Ticket booking app UTS functional to avoid crowd and save time.
- Extra GRP & RPF personals at crowd sensitive stations and on all platforms
- All entry and exit gates, lifts, escalators, FOBs to be opened.
- RPF will use CCTVs to check passenger movement.
- Random ticket checking to ensure adherence to time slots.
- Regular sanitization of trains, stations and platforms.
As per the sources, the announcement was made by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced on Friday soon after the Maharashtra government proposed to resume the services for all commuters.
