The ISKCON Temple, Juhu, officially known as Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Temple, is among Mumbai’s most visited spiritual destinations. Located in Juhu near the beach, the temple serves as the headquarters of ISKCON activities in India and attracts devotees, tourists, and spiritual seekers from across the world.

The temple is known for its peaceful atmosphere, grand architecture, devotional music, daily aartis, and beautifully decorated deities of Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari, Gaura-Nitai and Sita-Ram-Laxman-Hanuman.

Foundation & History

The global International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded in 1966 by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in New York.

The Juhu temple story began in the early 1970s when Srila Prabhupada envisioned a major Krishna temple in Mumbai. The land acquisition faced legal and financial hurdles, but after years of effort, the temple complex was successfully developed.

  • Foundation work began in the early 1970s
  • Temple was formally developed under Srila Prabhupada’s guidance
  • Today it is one of India’s most important ISKCON temples

The temple complex is known for its grand architecture, beautifully maintained gardens, marble interiors, and a peaceful ambiance that instantly separates visitors from the surrounding urban chaos. The main sanctum houses exquisitely decorated deities of Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari, along with Sita-Ram-Laxman-Hanuman and Gaura-Nitai, adorned daily with vibrant garments, jewelry, and flowers. The temple complex includes:
