The Election Commission has extended Mumbai’s voter registration deadline to 23rd April 2024, with a specific aim to boost participation, particularly among college students aged 18-19. This initiative seeks to enhance turnout in this age group for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Mumbai and Maharashtra.

The elections are to be conducted in five phases. It will commence on April 19 (first phase) and conclude on May 20 (fifth phase). Mumbai’s polling is scheduled for the fifth phase on May 20.
