Holi Celebrations Banned in Mumbai

Holi celebrations are banned in Mumbai by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). They have issued an order banning Holi celebrations at public or private spaces in wake of the rising cases of COVID-19.

Action will be taken against those who violate the order, the BMC said.

In a tweet they have quoted:
“Let’s Celebrate After The Virus Has Been Chased!

All private/public celebration of Holika Dahan & Rang Panchami has been prohibited to ensure #COVIDー19 doesn’t play a spoilsport.

We request Mumbaikars to cooperate. Strict action will be taken against offenders.”
