4 Homicides That Will Blow Your Mind

In the year 2019, reported crimes in Mumbai surpassed 37,000. While the total number of cases saw a decline since the previous year, crimes including murder, assault & battery, and extortion were on the rise. A few homicide cases alarmed the public and clearly stood out in the news:

The Twin Sacrifice

Do you believe in black magic? A 43-year-old man named Anil Chugani claimed that he was under the influence of black magic when he murdered the 3-year-old daughter of his childhood friend. Anil spent one-half of his time in Mumbai and the other in Morocco. While in Mumbai, he invited his friend Premlal’s twin daughters and son to his place one evening. The children were accompanied by a maid when Anil coaxed one of the twin daughters away from the rest and flung her out the window from a 7^th floor flat. The girl landed on a car bonnet but was not able to make it despite being rushed to the hospital.

Anil later confessed that he had been planning the homicide for quite some time. He had been facing some health issues that were connected to black magic. A colleague in Morocco told him that sacrifice of twins was the only cure.

Private Tuition Gone Wrong

The murder of 30-year-old school Principal, Ayesha Aslam, gave goosebumps to investigators and education faculties all over the country likewise. Ayesha used to provide private tuition to students after school and it became the death of her. A 7th-grade student who was being tutored by her for the past 5 years arrived at her door with a knife one evening. He stabbed her as soon as she opened the door. Ayesha raised an alarm, which helped the neighbors take her to the hospital, but she died on the way. After arrest, the 12-year-old boy stated that he was angry with the principal for scolding him in front of friends. 

The Adopted Murderer

The Mumbai police discovered a suitcase at Mahim Beach, which contained cut up limbs and clothing items of a male. The victim was tracked through the label on his clothing; he was a 59-year-old musician named Bennett Rebello. The police found two minors at the man’s address; one of them was a girl that Rebello had adopted a few years ago and the other was her boyfriend. The young couple confessed to killing the musician and was sent to juvenile prison. They had stuffed the victim’s body parts in four bags and thrown them into Mithi River. Sometime later, the girl declared that Rebello sexually assaulted her, and this was her way of taking revenge.

Eighth Floor Suicide

Young love is thought to be exhilarating but sometimes has the most tragic endings. A 13-year-old girl from a wealthy home and a 16-year-old delivery boy met at a tuition class and became friends. The girl’s mother found out about the friendship and prohibited her from seeing him again. The girl respected her mother’s orders but agreed to meet with the boy one last time at the residential complex. The boy had an obsession with her; he told her that if she couldn’t be with him, then she wouldn’t be with anyone else either. He pushed the girl off the 8^th floor and she was unable to survive the fatal injuries. The boy confided in his parents, who sent him away to live with a relative. They believed that the incident would be considered a suicide attempt, but were shortly taken into police custody.
