On the occasion of Lokmanya Tilak’s death anniversary, an exhibition will be held at Bedekar Sadan, Girgaon. The phrase “Swarajya is my birthright and I shall have it” is not new, but whenever it is read or heard, it reminds us of Bal Gangadhar Tilak. This phrase brings a sense of energy, enthusiasm, and hope every time it is spoken or heard. Bal Gangadhar Tilak is also known as Lokmanya Tilak.

The title “Lokmanya” was given to him, meaning “accepted by the people.” Besides this, he is also called the father of Hindu nationalism. Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak was born on July 23, 1856, and passed away on August 1, 1920. Lokmanya had a deep connection with the Girgaon area, from Swaraj Bhumi to Sardar Griha.

On the 104th death anniversary of Tilak, the Lokmanya Ganesh Mandal (Bedekar Sadan, Shantaram Chawl, and Malini Block) in Girgaon has organized an exhibition of Lokmanya Tilak’s writings and photographs. This event will be inaugurated by Hon. Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, Maharashtra.

Event details:
Inauguration: Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 6:00 PM.
Exhibition date: Sunday, August 4, 2024,
Time: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
