Mithil Raju a 17 year old boy from Chembur had become the youngest Mumbaikar to climb Mount Everest on 17th May 2023. Along with him three other climbers Pankhi Haris Chhed from Borivali (32), Yashi Jain (25) from Raigarh and Sunil Kumar from Karnal (32) reached the Mount Everest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They achieved this feat in the severe weather conditions with minus 40 degree temperature. Most of them got frostbite with Pankhil Chheda got on his two fingers and for Mithil cost him two fingernails. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mithil was planning to do third highest peak of Lhotse but dropped it. Talking over the phone from Kathmandu in Nepal, he said: \u201cI decided against doing the third highest peak, as I too had frost bites. Had I done Lhotse, I would have entered the Guinness Book of World Records.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mithil’s Preparation<\/strong>
The expedition cost Mithil’s parents around Rs 40 lakhs. Mithil started doing trekking, camping and hiking from age 7 years. He did staircase climbing for months and endurance running for six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
