Here are the names and phone number of the NGOs in Mumbai helping the animals and birds in distress. Kindly contact on the given numbers areaswise for emergency. You can call for help for street dogs, cats, birds or any other animals needing immediate attention.
Below are the points to be considered by the people helping the animals:
- The NGOs have their limitations since they can’t accomodate all the animals at their shelter or hospital.
- The injured animals may be taken temporarily for treatment by the respective NGOs but the animals are brought back to their original place. So any stray animals cannot be re-located.
- The person who want to treat the stray will have to take the responsibility and should be present during the follow-ups by the NGO. This is because the NGO needs a reference person to contact and treat the animals.
- If NGOs unable to help, people can take help from the local Vet Doctor. The doctors might give concession in treatment considering it as a stray animal.
- Some shelters only accomodate the animals, if the owner or caretaker afford to fund the respective animal homes.
