Coronavirus Challenge to Local Trains in Mumbai – Get Helpline Numbers

To combat Coronavirus, awareness and precautionary measures are being communicated through all mediums. Most of the events are being cancelled and it has been advised to avoid travelling. But how one would tackle Mumbai local trains which is most busiest and crowded specially during peak hours? According to railway officials, screening of passengers at railway stations is practically impossible, looking at sheer numbers.

Though it’s very difficult to tackle such situation, Western railway have taken some measures. Station masters have been trained to spot commuters with coronavirus symptoms and help them reach the hospital where such patients are being treated. The WR has set up a dedicated ward of 30 beds for suspected coronavirus cases at Jagjivan Ram Hospital at Mumbai Central, whereas the Central railway has set up isolation wards at its hospitals in Byculla and Kalyan.

Also dedicated isolation wards are set at Kasturba hospital.
