Explore Untouched Beaches of Vasai – Virar

Vasai Virar is located 50 km north of Mumbai but it has become a part it due to easy accessiblity through local trains. Villages of Vasai-Virar depicts Goa and so are it’s beaches. Beaches are nature’s way to show us how heavens look in real. Though Arnala is a famous location but here are some famous & untouched beaches of the far spread coastal areas of Mumbai.

Suruchi Beach – Vasai

Location – Vasai Suburb on the West Coast of Maharashtra.

This is one of the cleanest beaches in the suburban area. It is a beach that is not too far from the hustle of the suburb yet it is a calm & a soothing place for a get away from the chaos of the city.

This beach has a luscious green plantation of trees, ferns & bushes on one side & gushing waves of the sea on the other. This beach is mostly occupied by wanderers & fun lovers.This beach is a great place for morning & evening walks, family picnics, exercising.

How to get there:
a. From Vasai station : ( distance 8.2 kilometers)
25 minutes by a vehicle ( Car/ bike/ Rickshaw )

Kalamb Beach

Location: Vasai – Nallasopara Suburb on the West Coast of Maharashtra.

This beach is yet another evidence of nature’s beauty. This beach is located far from the suburban chaos. It is clean & Serene. This is one of the least crowed beaches, one may not find too many people around. This beach is a great place for water sports & picnics. But this beach is also remarked as dangerous during monsoons & high tides.

How to get there
a. From Vasai station:
Approximate time by a vehicle : 20 – 25 minutes.
Buses are available every 30 minutes from the Vasai bus Depot.

b. From Nalasopara Bus Depot: 
Approximate time by a vehicle : 25- 40 minutes.
Buses are available every 15-20 minutes from the Virar Bus Depot.

Bhuigaon Beach

Location : Vasai Suburb on the West Coast of Maharashtra.

This beach is known as the ‘untouched beach’ because it is located in the interiors of the suburb away from the hustle bustle. It is so clean & a silent beach, one may not find too many people around as this beach is hardly known to any. This beach is located in the vicinity of a village named Bhuigaon & hence the beach is named after this village. It is advisable to leave the beach before it gets dark as there are no proper lights on the beach and the roads near it & one might definitely wouldn’t want to cross the luscious jungle at night.

How to get there:
From Vasai station: (distance : 10.2 kilometers)
By a vehicle : (Approximate time by a vehicle : 25- 30 minutes (Car / bike/ bus )

Navapur Beach

Location : Interiors of Virar Suburb

This beach is yet another untouched beach which is now gaining acknowledgement because of its cleanliness & Serenity. This beach is located near a village named ‘Navapur’ which is why this beach is called the Navapur beach. Watching a Sunset here is next to watching magic, because heavens fall here. On the way to the beach at the entrance of the village the local people set up tea and snack stalls in the evening where visitors can patronize the lip smacking vada pao, bajhiyas and other delicacies. On the way to the beach there are two resorts, the Manthan resort & Britto Wadi. The Manthan resort is a typical resort with water games, food & music, the Britto Wadi is a landscape resort with lots of trees and greenery.

How to get there:
From Virar bus Depot: By bus approximate time : 15- 20 minutes, 5-7 minutes walk from Navapur bus stop.

Bus are available in every 10-12 minutes from Virar bus Depot.

Rajodi Beach

Location : Vasai – Virar Suburb

This beach is one of the most well known and renowned beaches in Vasai.
This beach is surrounded by mesmerizing greenery. On the way to this beach the either sides of the roads are full of tree plantations like coconut, ferns and bushes. This beach is also famous for the rocks that are placed on edges of sand where locals and visitors sit and relax. Because this beach is located on the West Coast, one can sit by the rocks and enjoy the mesmerizing view of the sunset. There are small tea & snack stalls around the corner for breakfast or evening snacks. Monsoon is the best season to visit this beach.

Arnala Beach

Location : Virar Suburb

The famous Arnala beach is located on the West Coast of the Suburb. This beach is a huge tourist attraction as this beach is also one of the cheapest holiday destinations for a weekend get away. This beach is surrounded by a number of resorts & hotels & lodges for the visitors. The beach is well known among the locals & others and that is why one may see that the beach is crowded not only on weekends but also on weekdays. It is not advisable to stay back at this beach late in the evening or night as it is dangerous.

How to get there:
From Virar Station:
Frequent buses from Virar West Bus depot.
25 – 30 minutes by car /rickshaw / bike

Mamachi Wadi

Location : Interiors of Virar Suburb

This beach is very far from the chaos of the suburb and is located in the far interiors. It is the cleanest beach of them all.

How to get there :
Approximate time from Virar Station :45-50 minutes.

No buses or cars can reach there as the roads are narrow.
